Yandex launches caller ID identifier in WhatsApp, Viber

MOSCOW, Aug 7 (PRIME) -- Russian Internet company Yandex has launched an automatic identifier of phone calls for messengers WhatsApp and Viber, which will warn the users about unwanted calls, the company said on Monday in a statement.

“The automatic caller ID identifier in application Yandex with Alice has learnt to warn the user about unwanted calls in messengers. Yandex analysts point out that spammers and scammers bother people via messengers more and more often, and the number of complaints about it rises,” Yandex said.

The new feature is active on iOS and Android devices in WhatsApp and Viber.

The caller ID identifier provides information about negative and useful calls in tens of various categories, and the base is updated constantly.
